When you say you forgive but do not want to re-establish contact with the person again, what does it mean?

  • does that mean you do not want to be hurt again and take that chance to be hurt again,
    so even if someone apologizes and says they regret doing what they did to hurt you and will never do it again, does it still make sense to forgive but have no contact of any kind?
    isn't that telling them i forgive you but i do not trust your apology?


  • It is saying you forgive them, and you wish no ill will towards the person, but you do not want to keep them in your life anymore. Plain & simple. If you run into them, you will say hello, but you just don't want them as a "friend" anymore.
